Dear friends, For fourteen years now, I have had the superb honor of playing banjo along side of my hero, the legendary Dr. Ralph Stanley. Through all of these years, on countless occasions, it had been brought to my attention how much fans and pickers really enjoy this unique style of banjo playing. And most of all, how much they want to learn more about it. That is why James Alan Shelton and myself teamed up with March Media to shoot this DVD, so we can pass along and help preserve the Stanley style of five string banjo playing.

Besides doing this project for our fans, it is also you might say, a personal tribute to my mentor, Dr. Ralph Stanley. Between Mr. Shelton and I, all of the information in this DVD is credited to over a combined fifty years of playing and studying the Stanley Style of bluegrass music. We are sure that this is a project that will be beneficial to all pickers who are interested in learning this style the "correct" way for years to come.
